What size should my margins be when formatting a script? (am I missing any other script features?)?
I have a front page of my script with my title and my name and the date which it is going to be copyrighted from.
It's all in size 12 Courier New, stage directions in Italics, Character names in bold. Is there anything I need to do and how big should my margins (left, right and top and bottom) be?
With the script that I just wrote, I used a website to get the proper format. I did not put the character names in bold, just in all capitals (ex. ROBERT), because that's what it said I should do. I used to put my stage directions in italics, but according to various websites, that is incorrect. You should just leave it in regular text, like I am writing to you right now. I put my margins all in one inch, but I am not sure of the correct margin size.
Also, when your characters are talking, the dialogue should be in the middle of the page, while stage directions are on the left side, just like this. I really wish I could show you how on here, but Y!A does not allow me to center my words.
