I need help to post the following information to either the revenue or cash receipts journal?
I have the following transactions I am supposed to post to either the revenue journal or cash receipts journal I'm still a little confused and could use some help.
Issued Invoice No 512 to Browne Co $820.
Received cash from CMI Inc, on account for $195
Received cash from Marshall Inc, for services provided $90
Received cash from Browne Co for invoice of March 2.
What gets debited and credited?
In the revenue journal, there will always be a debit to accounts receivable and a credit to sales (revenues). In the cash receipts journal there will always be a debit to cash, and the credit will go to whatever the cash paid for, accounts receivable, services, sales, etc. You need to read up on the definitions of these special journals.
