If the soil you're standing on were to melt, there would be major issues ... ~ The mid-ocean ridge is a divergent boundary. The movement of hot magma is happening here. *** EDIT *** I read the question. C is probably the answer. The hot magma rises and forms new rocks, this new section of the crust pushes the rock away from the existing ridge. Thus the crust is moving. However the cause and affect only rational response to a plausible one.
