I just received a very old stamp collection. How do I find someone who would like to buy it?
I'm not a stamp collector and have no interest in this. It looks like it may be valuable, how do I find collectors that may be interested in purchasing it?
eBay is not a good place to sell anything if you have no knowledge about what you're selling. The best thing to do is to find three reputable dealers of stamps in your area and get the 'buy' offer of all three. Then you can try selling it through a local auction house that will advertise it along with other items in their sale. Collectors do attend these auctions when they know stamp collections are offered, and a collector will probably pay enough more than a dealer to cover the auctioneer's fee.
Or you can just take the best of the dealer offers and be done with it. It's their business to find new owners, not yours. Amateurs usually don't fare well when trying to sell directly to collectors.
