What is the cheapest way to get a tool set shipped?
My boyfriend has to ship his tool set from Brooklyn, NY to Fort Pierce, Florida...We've tried to figure out the cheapest way from driving up there to flying and renting a U-haul......we aren't sure which is the cheapest...please help!!!!!
The tool set from what I know is one of the large toolsets....the full 12 drawer stand up set. He didn't tell me how much it weighs.
I'm not sure if this service exists in the States, but...my sister was moving from our home in Dublin to Dundee, Scotland. Instead of shipping everything herself she searched online for a website that offered free space in trucks. Somebody had a corner free in a van and they hauled all her stuff to Dundee for 60 Euro. It's a win-win situation. The driver already has to make the trip, any extra cash is...extra. My sister saved a couple hundred Euro.
Maybe you could trying searching for a website that offered that service in the States. You just type in your start/end locations and it matches you with people who are making the trip anyway. The only travel you'd have to do is maybe meet the driver in a central part of town. Hope it works out. I'm an aircraft mechanic, I'd love a new tool set!
