Stimulus package to finance food stamps... will this rebound America? read on?
In my opinion, the people on food stamps are those who do not contribute to the US economy. They are the people who are to lazy to work, and to lazy to get an education. These people are to lazy to work at Safeway. How will providing more food stamps to people looking for a free ride in the first place stimulate our economy? After traveling the world and experiencing different cultures, I have found that a countries education level and work ethics generate a countries economy. Why not put that money toward scholarships to educate the young people?
You know the thing about generalizations and stereotypes? They're based off reality!
There are several points that you are missing here...
First of all... there are a great number of people who ARE of the working class that have recently been laid off from their jobs... and, it looks like... there will be a great many more in the near future... With the economy being what it is...and the job market in the sewer... some of these people are going to be unemployed for some time... much outstripping their allowable unemployment benefits... So, if the "food stamp system" is not prepared early enough for this new influx of new "needy".... a lot of people are going to start going hungry because of it !!
Next... by the current system... and those that are receiving benefits and the many who have been on them for literally generations... a good deal of what you are saying IS true... But, at the same time ... there are many on the system who are people who truly DO have legitimate need.... Not all people on the system are those who are able bodied "Lazy".. The problem with knowing which is which is NOT that difficult if the system had any kind of "give a damn" by which to search out the culprits that abuse the system.... but, they don't !!
Last... In order to "educate" anyone... they have to be alive to BE educated... and, without subsistance... and, food... they certainly won't be able to stay alive long enough .... to get a degree of any kind..... huh ?
