If unused insulin is used in a crime, who is liable?
Injecting someone with overdosage of insulin can kill. yet there are no laws for disposal of unused insulin. where i live they say throw it in your trash. am i liable for anything if somebody digs it out and uses it in a crime?
The best method of disposing of unused insulin is to collect it until you have enough to return it to your pharmacy and let them dispose of it properly. Either that, put the unused insulin in a Sharp's container and dispose of it as you would your syringes or any other hazardous waste. I agree, haphazardly throwing it in the garbage is irresponsible and potentially dangerous. And good for you...that is prudent thinking!
